For me the work is a trail of knowledge where I can express my abilities, discover my limits, and seek continuous improvement. The work should also be a tool which contributes to continual improvement of the human species.
Unfortunately, the work is also the tool necessary to people to obtain money to live. I was not very capable, to transform my time in money, perhaps because I attributed a little value to money accumulated, and also because I gave too much credit to the words of people, who were too interested in money and less in knowledge.
I believe, however, that knowledge is a value, and value becomes money: then my knowledge is not yet so high in order to conquer the hearts and minds of people who have the power to transform into reality the projects that my sensitive intelligence produces.
Regarding the professionalism with which we must carry out our work, a definition that I found around (on the Web or on some book) and that seems very right is: "attention to detail."
