Environment
Because I was born and I growed in the mountains I have always loved this sort of landscape, its scents and colours.
After I finished the University I tried to learn the tools and techniques that allow to defend the environment in the modern mass production (ISO 14000 and EMAS), confident that the environment becomes a business for large corporate, the only way to be able to control pollution.
When I was involved with the project of the "Giardino della Flora Appenninica" (a botanical garden) I attended a master degree in environmental communication, so as to learn the techniques to make the activity an environmentally a business tool. Those years when I lived and worked thinking I could grow professionally with the growth of "Giardino della Flora Appenninica", were the most beautiful: to live in close contact with plants, know their names, understand what active ingredients, know if they can be eaten by humans, were things that made me happy.
Even today, when I go around the mountains, I recognise some plants, and it seems to me to meet animated beings, because I know their names. Even when I did the restaurant owner I went much in the mountains to gather herbs and flowers, which I utilized to prepare dishes served in the restaurant "L'Elfo": I wanted to develop a cuisine based on weeds, berries and flowers.
When the dream is over, due to the mediocrity of certain local political personality, and because of errors committed to give confidence to people who do not, I fell into a chasm that half-truths, flavouring chemicals to be used to earn money (as the aroma to the truffle oil, which is derived from a molecule of methane, and in my opinion is carcinogenic ache: and the oil is used to flavour dishes truffle!).
The agri-food sector is an area where the producers say many lies, where it is difficult to find a right relation between what is said by the manufacturer and ingredients that make up the product itself (and for this we should always read the labels). Even for this my experience as a producer of liquors is over.
Then I moved to develop internet sites, with the result that I hadn't more time to stop to observe plants, even when I went to the fields to take pictures that I used to develop my draft "digital territory".
One day I hope I can come back to earn the bread of life knowing the wonderful balance of nature.
